Future Major Naval Event

Members of the Naval Establishment will have seen that three events, 2015-2017, are being planned commemorating aspects of 18th Century naval history in Canada. Members are urged to consider taking part in any capacity. A major 1812 focus Naval Establishment event is, however, being considered for staging Within the next three years, to involve:

a. A ‘tall ship’ squadron, and Longboat Flotilla, with arrival voyages for both;

b. An Assault Landing and battle involving land troops

c. A major Shore Encampment, and “The Sailor’s World”, in an historical site

d. Competition for the “Cock Of The Walk” trophy and “The Yeo Cup”

e. Regency delights, music and dancing

f. A Parade and Sailpast for public enjoyment

A major corporate sponsor for this event is being sought, and it is likely the locale will one of: Kingston (with Sackets Harbor); Toronto-Oakville; Hamilton harbour; Niagara-on-the-lake and Queenston; Collingwood-Wasaga Beach; Amherstburg; or Gananoque-Thousand Islands.
Further details as they are available.
